Tournament Schedule & Seedings

Team Banquet

The Team banquet will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, at 6:30 PM. The banquet will take place in the Exhibit Hall of the West Plains Civic Center. Team hosts will be invited to take part in the banquet so that teams can get to know them.

Each team will receive up to 18 complimentary banquet tickets for the following on the official roster (if more than 18 tickets are needed, then the team is responsible for payment of additional tickets when tickets are picked up after the Coaches Meeting):

Coaches are required to complete the Banquet Ticket Order Form for their team to receive complimentary tickets and to order other tickets needed by the team and to be paid for during check-in on Wednesday after the Coaches Meeting. All tickets reserved on the Banquet Ticket Order Form must be purchased and no refunds will be given.

All tickets reserved by phone or email must be purchased and no refunds will be given.

Banquet ticketsmay be purchased by additional team personnel, team managers/statisticians, school officials, administrators, parents and fans for $30 each. Additional tickets must be reserved by Thursday, November 8th, 2012 and must be paid/held with a credit card (no refunds). You can reserve tickets by calling (417) 255-7975 or (417) 255-7950 or by emailing Chris Turner at ChrisTurner@MissouriState.edu. Banquet tickets for teams can be picked up during the team practive sessions on Wednesday at the tournament information desk. Fans can pick up their tickets at this time or just prior to the banquet.

Team door prizes will be given at the banquet. Teams need to bring an item (sweatshirt, cap, tee shirt, etc.) from your school for the door prize. Please bring you team door prize to the tournament information desk when you come for your assigned practice session on Wednesday.

Admission Tickets

Each participating college will receive tournament passes for each Coach, Team Trainer and Roster Players listed on the Official Entry. All teams must enter at the east pass gate entrance and present their passes upon entry. Buses should drop off teams and park in the east or north parking lot.

Championship Programs

Each coach and player will receive one complimentary program following elimination. Additional programs will be available for $5.00 each.

Coaches Meeting

The official Tournament Coaches Meeting will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14th. All coaches are required to attend. The meeting will be held in the Walnut Room of the West Plains Civic Center.

Lodging Assignments

Hospitality

A hospitality room will be provided for all coaches, media personnel and officials in Dogwood 3 of the West Plains Civic Center. There will be a variety of meals served at the times listed below:

Locker Rooms

Changing facilities and showers are available at the West Plains Civic Center. Please bring towels if your team wishes to shower.

Movie Night

A local movie theater has offered to give each team a free movie while in West Plains. Further details on arrival.

Open Wound Policy

We will adhere to the current NJCAA volleyball rules and procedures regarding open wounds and bleeding.

Practice Schedule

The West Plains Civic Center will be available for 55 minute practice sessions on Wednesday, November 14th, from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM Each district's practice time has been pre-assigned. Coaches' packets, team passes and banquet tickets can be picked up at the information desk at this time.

** The practice assignments were determined through a blind draw. Each team must confirm its assigned time above as soon as possible. To confirm your practice time, please contact Chris Turner at (417) 255-7975 or email ChrisTurner@MissouriState.edu. Times will not be changed without the approval of the Tournament Director. Each team will be allotted 55 minutes. No extra practice time will be allowed. The practice will be timed with the clock starting on the hour for each hour, whether you are there or not.

Qualifications

Media and Sports Information

A media area will be provided for newspaper, radio, TV and sports information at the West Plains Civic Center. We have access to four telephone ports for radio broadcasts. They will be assigned on a first come/first served basis. Call Chris Turner at (417) 255-7975 to reserve a port. Teams will be billed for long distance charges on these ports.

Photography - Team

A commemorative team photograph will be taken of each team in game uniforms or warm-ups on Wednesday, November 14th at the West Plains Civic Center. The team photo will be taken right before the assigned practice time. Teams must pay at that time for their orders. Each team will receive one complimentary team photo. Additional photos may be purchased for the following prices: 1-8x10 ($12), 1-5x7 ($10), and 2-5x7 ($12). A $3.00 shipping fee will be added to each team order.

Awards

Awards will be presented following the championship match. Team trophies will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams. There will be a Most Valuable Player Award and a twelve (12) member All-Tournament Team. Individual medals will be given to members of the first and second place teams. The Coach-of-the-Year Award will also be presented at this time.

Final Four Post Tournament Banquet

The teams that reach the final four will be treated to a Final Four Banquet at the conclusion of the tournament hosted by Physical Therapy Specialists Clinic and Burton Creek Medical Complex. The banquet will be free to the final four teams coaches, players and athletic trainer (official roster information will be used to determine number of persons per team). Teams will have the opportunity to have fans, friends and family join them at the banquet at an approximate cost of $20.00 per person (final cost will be determined soon and posted on the tournament website). Prior to the semi-final games on Friday night the teams must declare if they will be attending and if attending, the number of extra tickets they will need by pre-paying for the each team ticket order for fans, friends and family.

Team Gift Exchange

It has been customary for teams to exchange gifts or trinkets as they greet each other at the net at the beginning of a match. This is not mandatory or required of teams. However, we wanted to make you aware of this tradition.

Team Hosts

Team hosts will greet each team at their practice session on Wednesday. Team hosts will also be a part of the banquet and will sit with their teams. They will be available throughout the tournament to help teams feel welcome and to assist with any other needs.

Training Room

A certified athletic trainer will be available at all times. The training room is located just off of the lobby area of the West Plains Civic Center in the fitness center. A satellite athletic training area will be available for main use in the main arena. Our head trainer is Keri Elrod, ATC-R. If you have any special treatment needs, you can call Keri at (417) 255-7936. All teams will need to provide their own tape and First-Aid supplies.

Videotaping

Teams only will be allowed to video games during the NJCAA Division I National Volleyball Tournament. A video tag will be given to teams and they will be able to video in a designated area. No videotaping from the stands will be permitted.

Recruiting information will be compiled for four-year institutions when you enter your team information online.
